The speaker of the event was the first vice-rector of Kherson State University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Serhiy Omelchuk.

The Scientific Library of Kherson State University announces a webinar on the topic: "Educational Process in the Light of New Requirements of the Law of Ukraine "On Academic Integrity". The webinar speaker is Yevhen Nikolayev, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of KSU.

The work of the expert group on the accreditation of the educational program "Medicine" of the second level of higher education in the specialty 222 "Medicine" took place at Kherson State University. For three days, the experts held meetings with the university management, scientific and pedagogical workers, students, graduates and representatives of structural units.
The Scientific Library of Kherson State University actively participated in the work of the expert group as an important element of the educational and scientific infrastructure of the university.

The KSU Scientific Library has prepared a virtual exhibition "Amvrosy Buchma - a great master of the Ukrainian stage" for the 135th anniversary of the birth of the brilliant Amvrosy Maksymilianovich Buchma.

On March 4, 2026, Alla Koval, Director of the Scientific Library of Kherson State University, joined a meeting of university library heads, which was held at the library of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University. The event was held on the topic "Library Upgrade: New Opportunities for Learning and Science" and brought together university library heads from various higher education institutions in Ukraine.

Every year on March 3, all countries celebrate World Writer's Day - a professional holiday for writers. The full name of this holiday is World Peace Day for Writers.

The number of translations of Ukrainian books is constantly growing.

In addition to significant historical figures, Ukraine is also proud of modern writers who are read abroad and through whom the world gets acquainted with the authenticity of our country.

Foreigners are most interested in famous Ukrainian authors: Serhiy Zhadan, Oksana Zabuzhko, Yuriy Andrukhovych, Andriy Kurkov, Tetyana Malyarchuk.

We should also note that over the past year, foreigners have increased their interest in Ukrainian veteran literature and authors who joined the ranks of defenders or volunteer. These include, for example, Artem Chekh, Artem Chapay, Oleksandr Mykhed, Valeriy Markus, Andriy Lyubka, Kateryna Kalytko, Maryana Savka, Tamara Horikha Zernya.

February 18 marks the 170th anniversary of the birth of Sofia Fedorovna Rusova, a Ukrainian teacher, prose writer, literary critic, and public figure.

On this occasion, the Scientific Library of KhSU offers to view the exhibition “The Pedagogical Heritage of Sofia Rusova.”

It presents literature on the history of the life and work of the outstanding teacher, written by authors of different eras, which will allow you to expand your knowledge about Sofia Fedorovna Rusova.

Every nation is proud of its outstanding representatives. Without exaggeration, it can be said that the pride of Tatarstan is the poet Musa Jalil (Musa Mustafaovich Jalilov), who will celebrate his 120th birthday on February 15, 2026.

A working meeting was held at the Scientific Library of Kherson State University to discuss changes to the Procedure for Forming the List of Scientific Professional Publications of Ukraine and current requirements for scientific journals. The meeting was attended by Valeria Serhiivna Blakh, Head of the Intellectual Property Department, as well as representatives of the Scientific Library.

Recently, students of Kherson State University took part in a lecture on the course "Academic Integrity", which was held by Professor Serhiy Omelchuk. At his invitation, the director of the KhSU scientific library, Alla Koval, joined the lecture.

On January 27, Ukraine and the world commemorate the victims of the Holocaust. The International Holocaust Remembrance Day was established by the decision of the UN General Assembly on November 1, 2005. The memorable date is celebrated annually on January 27, because it was on this day in 1945 that the prisoners of the largest Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau in Auschwitz were liberated during World War II. During the existence of this concentration camp, from 1.5 to 2.2 million people died there, according to various estimates. In total, 6 million Jews died in concentration camps and in the occupied territories during World War II, of which about 1.5 million were children.

The Scientific Library of the KhSU has prepared for your attention a virtual exhibition dedicated to the victims of Nazi terror during World War II. The exhibition presents documents, memories, and photo chronicles that reveal various aspects of this tragedy, its causes, and consequences.

The Scientific Library of Kherson State University received as a gift three copies of the collection "Colors of Crimea: Arrangements of Crimean Tatar Folk Music for Piano" by Crimean Tatar composer Dzhemily Karikov.

On November 24, the literary community celebrated the 220th anniversary of the birth of Oleksa Storozhenko, a Ukrainian writer, ethnographer, and public figure. His works, full of folk traditions, humor, and deep knowledge of Ukrainian culture, have become an important part of the literary heritage. On November 17, 2025, the Scientific Library of Kherson State University participated in another Zoom meeting dedicated to the development and implementation of an updated rating system for scientific publications, departments, and scientific and pedagogical staff.

On November 7, representatives of Kherson State University – Director of the Scientific Library Alla Koval, Head of the Museum and Archives Center Iryna Samsakova and other employees – took part in the celebrations marking the third anniversary of the liberation of the hero city of Kherson and the right-bank Kherson region, which took place at the Center for Artistic and Technical Creativity "Pechersk" in Kyiv.
