On January 27, Ukraine and the world commemorate the victims of the Holocaust. The International Holocaust Remembrance Day was established by the decision of the UN General Assembly on November 1, 2005. The memorable date is celebrated annually on January 27, because it was on this day in 1945 that the prisoners of the largest Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau in Auschwitz were liberated during World War II. During the existence of this concentration camp, from 1.5 to 2.2 million people died there, according to various estimates. In total, 6 million Jews died in concentration camps and in the occupied territories during World War II, of which about 1.5 million were children.

The Scientific Library of the KhSU has prepared for your attention a virtual exhibition dedicated to the victims of Nazi terror during World War II. The exhibition presents documents, memories, and photo chronicles that reveal various aspects of this tragedy, its causes, and consequences.

The KhSU Scientific Library has prepared a virtual exhibition "ZAGORODNYUK VASYL STEPANOVYCH: Poet and Literary Scholar" on the occasion of the birthday of Vasyl Stepanovych Zagorodnyuk, poet, literary scholar, head of the Kherson regional organization of the NSPU.

The Kherson State University Research Library joined a session on the course "Academic Integrity", conducted by Professor Serhiy Omelchuk. The meeting was dedicated to issues of academic integrity, student responsibility, and the proper use of academic sources.

His poetry, full of philosophical reflections on existence, beauty, and spirituality, inspires artists and readers around the world. The Scientific Library of Kherson State University received as a gift three copies of the collection "Colors of Crimea: Arrangements of Crimean Tatar Folk Music for Piano" by Crimean Tatar composer Dzhemily Karikov.

On November 24, the literary community celebrated the 220th anniversary of the birth of Oleksa Storozhenko, a Ukrainian writer, ethnographer, and public figure. His works, full of folk traditions, humor, and deep knowledge of Ukrainian culture, have become an important part of the literary heritage. We offer you a brief introduction to the life and work of Oleksa Storozhenko.

At the invitation of Fedyaeva Valentyna Leonidivna, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Faculty of Pedagogy, specialists from the scientific library of Kherson State University joined the training session and demonstrated the capabilities of the KhSU institutional repository.

On November 17, 2025, the Scientific Library of Kherson State University participated in another Zoom meeting dedicated to the development and implementation of an updated rating system for scientific publications, departments, and scientific and pedagogical staff.

On November 7, representatives of Kherson State University – Director of the Scientific Library Alla Koval, Head of the Museum and Archives Center Iryna Samsakova and other employees – took part in the celebrations marking the third anniversary of the liberation of the hero city of Kherson and the right-bank Kherson region, which took place at the Center for Artistic and Technical Creativity "Pechersk" in Kyiv.

The KhSU Scientific Library has prepared information from open sources on the occasion of the 170th anniversary of the birth of Dmytro Ivanovich Yavornytsky, an outstanding Ukrainian historian, archaeologist, ethnographer, folklorist, lexicographer, writer, researcher of the history of the Ukrainian Cossacks, museologist, full member of the National Scientific School (1914) and the Academy of Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (1929).Author of over 1,500 scientific works.One of the first to study in detail the entire history of the Zaporozhian Cossacks and the history of the Dnieper rapids.One of the founders of the O. M. Poly Regional Museum of Local Lore.

On October 31, 2025, as part of the Academic Integrity Week, an open microphone event “Academic Integrity: Implementation Strategies in Higher Education” was held at Kherson State University.

On October 30, Kherson State University hosted a roundtable discussion “Teaching Integrity: Methods of Teaching Academic Integrity” as part of the Academic Integrity Week.Employees of the KSU Scientific Library joined the event.Academic integrity is not just a rule, but a culture that we form together!

Joining the all-Ukrainian tradition, the staff of the scientific library took part in writing the Radiodictation of National Unity. This year's dictation united Ukrainians in all corners of the country and beyond. The radiodictation became not only a literacy test, but also a reminder that language is our cultural heritage, uniting generations and affirming national identity. Librarians admit that participating in the dictation has become a pleasant tradition for them, which they have supported for many years, because the love of books and words is the basis of their daily work.

As part of the Decade of Academic Integrity at Kherson State University, a panel discussion "Publication under Protection" was held on October 24, 2025, organized by the Scientific Library together with the Legal Department.

The Scientific Library of Kherson State University has prepared and published a biobibliographic index "Professor Serhiy Omelchuk: scientist-linguist, educational administrator, teacher", dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the birth of Serhiy Arkadiyovych Omelchuk - the first vice-rector of Kherson State University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Ukrainian and Slavic Philology and Journalism.

On October 2, 2025, employees of the KhSU Scientific Library joined a free webinar from Clarivate "Authority and Reputation of the Organization: From Publication Strategy to Demonstrating Achievements."The speaker was: Iryna TYKHONKOVA.

 The Scientific Library of Kherson State University announces the implementation of the results of the scientific research “Pedagogical Biography in the Information Educational and Scientific Space of Ukraine” (RC No. 0123U100474, 2023–2025), which was carried out by employees of the Department of Pedagogical Source Studies and Biography Studies of the V.O. Sukhomlynsky National Library of Literature and History of Ukraine under the leadership of L.D. Berezivska.

On September 19, 2025, the Scientific Library of Kherson State University held the second training seminar for first-year students of the Master's degree level.
