    Choreographers' Victories

    💃🌍 From April 24 to 27, at the Latvian Society House (Riga, Latvia), the 18th International Choreography Competition "Riga Spring 2025" took place, judged by a professional international panel of experts.

    Participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Germany, Iceland, and Kazakhstan competed in three main categories:
    ✨ Classical Dance
    ✨ Folk-Stage Dance
    ✨ Contemporary Dance
    as well as in a special Choreographers’ Competition, showcasing their skills across various age groups.

    🎉 Second-year students of the "Choreography" program at Kherson State University proudly represented Ukraine and achieved impressive results:

    Dance — the Mirror of World Culture

    On the occasion of International Dance Day, the Faculty hosted a vibrant and inspiring event titled "Dance – the Mirror of World Culture", organized in collaboration with the Commission on Culture and Spiritual Development of the Youth Parliament.

    👯‍♀️ The event brought together high school students from across the Kherson region, offering them the opportunity to witness captivating dance performances and experience the richness of various world cultures through the universal language of dance.
    🌍 Dance united everyone present with its rhythm of beauty, emotion, and tradition.

    📌 Meeting with Stakeholders at the Department of Choreographic Art, Kherson State University

    🗓️ On April 18, 2025, the Department of Choreographic Art at Kherson State University hosted an important event — a meeting with stakeholders 🤝

    Participants included:
    🔸 Heads of choreographic ensembles
    🔸 Representatives of specialized and extracurricular education institutions of the Kherson region

    During the meeting, participants discussed the renewal and development of the "Choreography" educational programs at both the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education.

    💬 A key topic was ensuring that the content of these programs aligns with modern challenges in the professional training of specialists in the field of choreographic art.

    📢 All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference "Problems and Prospects for the Development of Choreographic Art"

    On March 28, 2025, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference (with international participation) was held, organized by the Department of Choreographic Art of Kherson State University.
    🔹 The event brought together researchers, educators, choreographers, and artists, who discussed pressing issues related to the development of choreographic art in Ukraine and worldwide.
    🔹 The opening speeches were delivered by leading scholars and cultural figures, including First Vice-Rector of Kherson State University, Serhii Omelchuk, and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Culture and Arts, Natalia Tereshenko.
    🔹 Key topics of the reports included:
    ✅ Methodology for teaching professional choreographic disciplines
    ✅ Ballet and war in Ukraine
    ✅ Modern trends in choreographic art
    ✅ Inclusive education in choreography
    ✅ The use of modern technologies in teaching

    🌍 Participants from various cities in Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia shared their experiences and perspectives on the development of dance art.

    On December 1, 2024, senior lecturer of the Choreographic Arts Department at Kherson State University, Inna Bilousenko, together with the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia, participated in the Christmas Fair in Riga. She proudly showcased the cultural traditions of the Ukrainian people and the choreographic heritage of Ukrainian dance. Among the many countries represented at the event, Ukraine was one of the few highlighted through choreographic art. Visitors to the fair greatly enjoyed Inna Bilousenko's performance, expressing their gratitude and admiration. Funds raised at the Christmas Fair were donated to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

    On November 22, the Faculty of Culture and Arts at Kherson State University hosted the regional academic readings titled "Innovative Teaching Methods for Choreographic Disciplines in Arts Institutions".

    The Department of Choreographic Art was the organizer and initiator of the event. Participants included representatives from Uman State Pedagogical University, Volyn National University, Kherson Professional College, Beryslav Pedagogical College, as well as choreographic instructors from Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, and Odesa.

    In her opening remarks, Acting Dean Natalia Tereshchenko emphasized:
    "Despite the challenges of our time—relocation and dispersion—the Faculty of Culture and Arts, particularly the Department of Choreographic Art, continues to adopt new methodologies and technologies. These innovations enhance the quality of the educational process while also allowing us to share our experiences with colleagues."

    Alla Rehlytska, Head of the Department of Choreographic Art at Kherson State University, noted that the event is a long-standing tradition of the department and has been held for the sixth time. Each year, it gathers professional choreographers, university and college students, lyceum students, and members of choreographic ensembles to discuss and analyze contemporary practices, exchange ideas and experiences, and explore priority areas for developing choreographic education.

    This year's readings focused on choreographic art in the Kherson region.
    Speakers included Alla Rehlytska, Head of the Department of Choreographic Art at Kherson State University, who presented a report titled "Choreographic Culture of the Kherson Region: Traditions, Trends, and Experience."

    Associate Professor of the same department, Valentyn Vasiak, delivered a presentation on "The Dance Diversity of Kherson Region's Choreographic Art in the Productions of Valentyn Vasiak."

    From October 10 to 11, Kherson State University graduates from the Faculty of Culture and Arts, Department of Choreography, Polina Sobolevska and Olga Fedorova, participated as part of the "Wow" show ballet in a charity event to raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kyiv. They performed their show Three Elements in the style of Ukrainian folklore (organized by the NGO Ukrainian Headquarters of International Diplomacy, Angela Kondratiuk).

Ovchynnikova).

    On October 10, 2024, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University hosted a practical seminar in choreographic art titled "Bridges of Terpsichore: From Tavria to the Carpathians."

    The event featured lectures by:

    Ukrainian Dance: Presented by Valentyn Vasiak, an Honored Cultural Worker of Ukraine and Associate Professor at the Department of Choreographic Art at Kherson State University, accompanied by Oleksii Filenko.
    Contemporary Dance: Presented by Tetiana Shyryna, a top-category judge and instructor at the Department of Choreographic Art at Kherson State University.
    During the event, students specializing in the arts enthusiastically participated in master classes, explored techniques in Ukrainian and contemporary dance, and discussed traditions and innovations in choreography. Such interregional collaboration promotes the preservation and popularization of national culture and the development of professional skills among young artists.

    Kherson State University extends its sincere gratitude to the Precarpathian National University for their warm hospitality and support in organizing the seminar, which brought together representatives of choreographic art from different regions of Ukraine.

    Another victory!

    "Problems and prospects of the development of choreographic art"

    У Херсонському державному університеті відбулася Всеукраїнська (з міжнародною участю) науково-практична конференція «Проблеми та перспективи розвитку хореографічного мистецтва».

    Організатором виступила кафедра хореографічного мистецтва факультету культури та мистецтв ХДУ.

    Привітали учасників наукового заходу й побажали плідної роботи задля майбутнього розвитку й модернізації українського хореографічного мистецтва проректорка з міжнародної, соціально-гуманітарної та науково-педагогічної роботи Алла Цапів та декан факультету культури і мистецтв Микола Левченко.

    Захід проходив в онлайновому форматі, долучилося понад 100 учасників. Це – студенти та викладачі закладів вищої і передвищої освіти з різних міст України, керівники хореографічних колективів, представники мистецької сфери з Латвії та Чехії.

    «Активна й масштабна участь підтверджує небайдужість і зацікавленість освітянської спільноти до наукових пошуків у хореографічній галузі. Дякуємо всім хто долучився до зустрічі та представив свої наукові доробки», – зазначила завідувачка кафедри хореографічного мистецтва ХДУ Алла Рехліцька.

    Захід тривав близько 5 годин. Під час конференції учасники висвітлювали й обговорювали такі питання, як ефективність українського хореографічного мистецтва в контексті соціального виховання особистості, розвиток хореографії у сфері кіно та телебачення, особливості сучасного класичного балету, формування компетентностей у процесі фахової підготовки студентів-хореографів. Також торкнулися питання хореографічної освіти в Латвії.

    All-Ukrainian festival "Live Kherson! Live!"

    Студентки Херсонського державного університету Софія Чижевська та Анастасія Михайловська вибороли гран-прі на Всеукраїнському фестивалі «Живи Херсон! Живи!». Дівчата представили авторський хореографічний номер «Болить… Херсон».

    Софія Чижевська та Анастасія Михайловська навчаються на ІІІ курсі спеціальності «Хореографія» факультету культури і мистецтв Херсонського державного університету.

    Їхня хореографічна композиція – це танець серця та емоцій! Номер був поставлений ще у жовтні минулого року, коли Херсон перебував під окупацією. Соня та Анастасія – херсонки, за допомогою мови танцю вони передали свої почуття: невимовний біль й тугу за домом, і водночас незламну віру, боротьбу й жагу до життя. Бажання повернутися в мирний, безпечний і квітучий Херсон!

    21st International Festival-Competition of Choreographic Art "Arabesques of Bohemia"

    Минулого тижня у Чехії відбувся ХХІ Міжнародний фестиваль-конкурс хореографічного мистецтва «Арабески Богемії». Конкурс проходив серед дітей та молоді. Головою журі виступила завідувачка кафедри хореографічного мистецтва факультету культури і мистецтв Херсонського державного університету Алла Рехліцька. 

    Завідувачка кафедри хореографічного мистецтва ХДУ, заслужена працівниця культури України, голова Херсонського обласного осередку Національної хореографічної спілки України Алла Рехліцька розповіла, що отримала запрошення очолити журі від директора фестивалю і завідувача творчим відділенням Національної хореографічної спілки України Володимира Дольчука. Адже кафедра співпрацює з ним вже багато років.

    Алла Рехліцька оцінювала конкурсантів разом з колегами з Чехії та Вірменії. За її словами, конкурс залишив лише приємні та емоції, колективи гідно і на високому рівні представили свої номери. Цьогоріч взяло участь небагато хореографічних колективів, адже відновлюються традиції тривалої після перерви. Зокрема, було 4 колективи з України: Києва, Волині, Дніпра.

    Також наголошено на важливості проведення таких заходів і участі у них української молоді. Адже тут йдеться не лише про збереження культурної спадщини, традицій, а також про ще один важливий аспект – виховний. А якщо говорити про міжнародні конкурси, то це ще й потужний інструмент презентації України.

    «Ave Bohemia»

    У Празі відбувся XX Міжнародний хореографічний конкурс-фестиваль «Ave Bohemia». Оцінювати виступи конкурсантів запросили завідувачку кафедри хореографічного мистецтва Херсонського державного університету Аллу Рехліцьку.

    Алла Рехліцька – заслужена працівниця культури України, голова Херсонського осередку Національної хореографічної спілки. Вона має великий досвід роботи і неодноразово була головою та членом журі хореографічних конкурсів міжнародного рівня.

    За словами Алли Рехліцької, міжнародні конкурси завжди цікаві саме різноманітністю жанрів, напрямів, різновіковими категоріями учасників: від 5-6 до 18-20 років. Також це чудова можливість для професійного спілкування з іноземними колегами.

    «Ave Bohemia» – масштабний конкурс-фестиваль, що проходить двічі на рік. Цього разу за першість змагалися учасники з України, Чехії, Марокко, Німеччини, Словаччини. Загалом близько 600 учасників.
