Friday, December 15, 2023

A delegation from Kherson State University is on a working visit to Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Poland) to outline specific steps for collaboration within the joint Erasmus+ SMART-PL project.

The delegation from Kherson State University includes Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskiy, Vice-Rectors Alla Tsapiv and Maksym Vinnyk, Dean of Pedagogical Faculty Liubov Petukhova, and Head of the Department of International Initiatives and Project Management Yevheniia Revenko.

Wrocław University of Science and Technology, commonly known as Wrocław Polytechnic, is one of the largest and most renowned universities in Poland, with 22,000 students across 14 faculties. Many Ukrainians study there, as the university offers educational programs in both Polish and English.

The main goal of the visit, according to Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskiy, is to outline concrete steps within the joint Erasmus+ SMART-PL project, which started this year.

We are also interested in prospects for academic collaboration, as there are specialties where we can organize student mobility. These include computer technologies, physics, mathematics, medicine, and chemistry. We are trying to provide our students with the best opportunities, so cooperation with a university whose stakeholders include companies like Google, Microsoft, and other global players is very promising. In general, for a young person, getting to Wrocław, which is considered the Polish equivalent of Silicon Valley, is immediately a step towards a successful career, especially in the IT sector, which Ukrainian economists and experts are currently betting on while modeling the future of our country,” emphasized Oleksandr Spivakovskiy.

On December 13th, representatives of Kherson State University met with Vice-Rector of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Professor Dariusz Łydżba, who is responsible for cooperation with external partners, and Anna Jarosławska, Head of the Department of International Initiatives.

They presented the university’s opportunities, and we shared information about how we live and work, outlining areas where we can establish partnership relations, particularly in implementing projects within Erasmus+,” commented Kherson State University’s Rector.

As part of the visit, the Kherson State University team, together with the Head of the Wrocław Office of the DataArt company, George Kremenetskyi (a stakeholder of Kherson State University), visited the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies and met with its Dean, Professor Andrzej Kucharski. They also toured the Laboratory of Electromagnetic Compatibility and Telecommunication Systems, where scientific research is conducted.
