KSU Delegation Took Part in the Meeting for the DigiUni Project in France

Wednesday, February 14, 2024

University Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskiy, together with Vice-Rector for International, Social and Humanitarian, Research and Education Affairs Alla Tsapiv and Dean of the Pedagogical Faculty Liubov Petukhova, participated in the kick-off meeting of the DigiUni project within the framework of Erasmus+ Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education (ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE) Strand 3 in France.

Oleksandr Spivakovskiy noted that we have a powerful partnership: 10 Ukrainian universities, including relocated ones – Kherson State University and Mariupol State University, Ukrainian state institutions, 7 foreign universities, and research institutions.

"We have already met online several times, and now we have gathered in person to get acquainted, as we will be working together for four years, agreeing on all stages of the project and defining each partner's role.

The project aims to unite the Ukrainian higher education sector, government authorities, the labor market, and society within the DigiUni paradigm to create a platform for high-quality digital education in Ukraine. It will reach thousands of students and free listeners who wish to receive quality digital educational services. However, this will be preceded by the development of software, educational programs, content, synchronization of all business processes and legislation, administrator training, and much more," emphasized the Rector.

During the meeting, Kherson State University's experience was presented, along with its exclusive digital services – the educational platform KSUonline and the administrative platform KSU24 (the university's equivalent of Diia).

"During the presentation, we demonstrated the real-time content translation capabilities thanks to AI and the Freespeech app by Artem Astafurov, with whom the university collaborates in testing and improving the language features of this high-tech product. By the way, it was used for translating the speeches of the President of Ukraine. It was pleasing to see that the participants of the meeting were impressed with the level of digitalization at KSU.

I presented the organizer of the meeting, Boris Stchekine, with a symbolic map of Ukraine, wishing that we never agree to any changes in our country's borders, as Ukraine was, is, and will always be part of the civilized world," said Oleksandr Spivakovskiy.
