Alpen-Adria University of Klagenfurt (Republic of Austria) Offers Students the Opportunity to Join Semester Studies During the Second Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year

Alpen-Adria University of Klagenfurt (Republic of Austria) invites students to participate in semester studies during the secobd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.

he Austrian partner provides:

  • 1 Erasmus+ scholarship (from €850 to €1100 per month)
  • 1 university scholarship (€800 per month)

Accommodation costs are covered by the student independently.


Summer Semester 2025 ( March 2025 - June 2025)

Information about the Erasmus+ Scholarship:

  1. Before the start of mobility, a Learning Agreement (section "Before the Mobility") must be signed by all three parties: the student, the home university, and the host university.
  2. Upon arrival, scholarship recipients must complete the enrollment procedure and open a bank account in Austria. The full amount of the scholarship will be transferred to the student’s Austrian bank account.
  3. The European Union (EU) recommends earning 30 ECTS credits per semester during Erasmus+ mobility. According to internal rules, incoming exchange students must earn at least 16 ECTS credits at AAU. Erasmus+ ICM students must earn at least 3 ECTS credits per month while at the university. Please note that if a student earns fewer than 3 ECTS credits per month at AAU, the Erasmus+ scholarship may be reduced, and the student may be asked to partially or fully reimburse the grant.
  4. After completing the mobility, students must submit a recognition report.

Duration of Funding for the University Scholarship:

  • From 4 to 5 months (5 months if students choose to take an intensive German language course before or after the lecture period).
  1. Upon arrival, students must complete enrollment and open an Austrian bank account. The scholarship will be transferred in full to this account. Please note that this process may take up to three weeks after all required documents (bank account number, confirmation of enrollment, etc.) are submitted.
  2. Minimum credit requirement: 16 ECTS.
  3. At the end of the exchange, recipients must submit to the International Office:
    • a copy of their academic transcript from AAU
    • a two-page reflective essay about their exchange experience.

  • English language proficiency
  • Academic performance
  • Motivation
  • Availability of required documents

Required Documents:

  1. Application to participate in the competition, signed by the dean and including average grade.
  2. Motivation letter in English (at least one page).
  3. Recommendation letter from a teacher/advisor/dean in English.
  4. Original transcript of records for the entire study period signed by the rector (in Ukrainian) and translated into English.
  5. Scanned copy of high school diploma and supplement (original) and English translation (for bachelor's students).
  6. Scanned copy of bachelor’s degree and English translation (for master’s students).
  7. High-quality photo in electronic format (as for visa).
  8. Scanned copy of international passport.

Documents must be submitted to the Department of International Initiatives and Project Management.

On the day of the competition, participants must be present in person and prepared to present themselves before the selection committee, explaining their motivation for studying at Alpen-Adria University of Klagenfurt. Based on these presentations, the jury will select the students to take part in the semester studies at AAU. Details about the competition date will be announced separately.
