Training workshop as part of the DigiUni project

From 01 to 04 October, the Dean of the Faculty Iryna Goshtanar joined the training ‘DigiUni: Digital University - Open Ukrainian Initiative’ at the University of Strasbourg. The war has become a serious challenge for all participants in the educational process in Ukraine. These realities have changed the vector of teaching. The main goal of the project is to create an open digital educational ecosystem with quality content. During the training, participants got acquainted with the digital environment of the University of Strasbourg. The experience of developing European University Alliances was presented by Michel Deneken, President of the University of Strasbourg, and Jean-Marc Planet, Vice President.

Jean Marc Viry, Director of the French online university, shared his experience of digital learning and teaching resources in the sciences. UNISCIEL offers free educational resources in mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, life science, earth and universe science.

Mario Calabrese, Curriculum Developer at the University of Strasbourg, introduced the training participants to the FOCI (Future-proof Criteria for Innovative European Education) project - which brings together members of the ECIU, YUFE and EPICUR Alliances - selected by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme to study and pilot possible criteria that will form the basis for a future single European higher education degree. It is about exploring the fundamental needs and expectations for a European degree from the perspective of not only the higher education sector but also society as a whole, as well as the relevant regulatory obstacles that need to be addressed at national and European levels to make the European degree a reality in the near future.

During the roundtable ‘Best Practices in Distance Learning’, Christian Jacques, Lecturer in Germanic Philology, Faculty of Foreign Languages and Cultures, University of Strasbourg, shared his experience of distance learning in the Bachelor's degree programme in Germanic Studies, and introduced the profile of students who choose distance learning.

Leslie Zamosi, Programme Director of The Pan-European Executive MBA at CITY College, University of York Europe Campus, presented the world-class double degree programme jointly offered by CITY College, University of York Europe Campus and the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Strasbourg. The programme offers a unique educational opportunity for modern executives and business professionals. Students can choose between a full-time Executive Mode or an online Executive Mode Blended programme, plus study tours: York (UK), Strasbourg (France), Thessaloniki (Greece).

The atmosphere of the training was filled with energy and lively networking.
