The first day of the workshop was dedicated to first aid according to BLS (Basic Life Support) standards. The speaker was Svyatoslav Yarimovich, a first aid trainer at the Red Cross Society in Ukraine. The students were actively engaged in the practical part, practising the skills of the first aid algorithm. They also learnt how to perform resuscitation and mastered the principles of applying pressure bandages to different parts of the body.
The second day focused on self-defence. The trainer was Marian Zhurilo, an ATO veteran and krav maga instructor. The participants discussed the causes of conflicts, ways to avoid them, and actions in dangerous situations. The students not only listened to the theoretical part, but also actively practiced self-defence techniques.
The final day of the training was dedicated to survival skills. Participants learnt algorithms of behaviour during mass riots and shelling, as well as methods of overcoming stress in extreme situations. Practical exercises included skills for passing through neutral and aggressive crowds, as well as tactics for working with a partner.
The workshop was held in an atmosphere of cooperation, and all participants received certificates confirming their knowledge. The students express their sincere gratitude to Kharkiv Press Club for organising the event, which allowed them to improve their skills and gain important knowledge for their professional activities.
