Faculty Members of the Department of Finance, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship at Kherson State University participated in the webinar "Implementation of FADN in Ukraine," where they discussed key aspects of integrating the Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN) into Ukraine's agricultural sector, sharing experiences and exploring prospects for adopting this European tool.

On October 29, 2024, faculty members of the Department of Finance, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship at Kherson State University – Viktoria PETRENKO, Andrii MOHNENKO, and Kateryna MELNYKOVA – participated in the webinar-presentation "Implementation of FADN in Ukraine." This event was dedicated to adapting the Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN) into Ukraine's national agricultural policy. The webinar was organized for agricultural professionals, scientists, and government representatives aiming to enhance the competitiveness of Ukrainian agriculture through an accounting system that has been successfully operating in EU countries for over half a century.

During the presentation, Ukrainian participants were introduced to FADN's strategic goals, including enhancing management efficiency, monitoring financial indicators, and assessing farm income and expenses. The system also allows farmers to automatically generate reporting data and evaluate their performance against industry averages, enabling them to plan their business development more effectively.

A particular focus of the webinar was the experience of implementing FADN in Italy. Participants learned how the Italian model of data collection and analysis at the farm level has become an example of successfully integrating an extensive statistical data system. Italy’s experience highlighted the importance of engaging various stakeholders, including research institutes, ministries, and regional administrations, which coordinate the work of liaison agents and data collectors. This has enabled FADN to become a reliable tool for developing and evaluating agricultural policy, determining farm profitability, analyzing the market, and promoting eco-friendly practices.

Additionally, participants were informed about the current stage of FADN development in Ukraine. In Ukraine, FADN offers voluntary participation for farmers, providing them not only with automated reporting tools but also with consultations to improve financial resilience. Especially relevant was the topic of supporting sustainable agricultural development and assessing its ecological effectiveness, which will become central to the upcoming Farm Sustainability Data Network (FSDN), planned for implementation in Ukraine by 2026.

Through this webinar, Kherson State University faculty gained valuable insights into modern approaches to farm management, which will significantly contribute to preparing students, particularly as Ukraine moves toward European integration
