KSU Vice-Rector Participates in the 50th Anniversary Celebration of American Councils
On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, the Vice-Rector for Academic and Scientific-Pedagogical Affairs of Kherson State University, Daria Malchykova, took part in an event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of American Councils.
The event was attended by representatives of the Alumni Bridge USA Ukrainian Academic Fellows Program, the Director of American Councils in Ukraine, Yarema Bachynskyi, as well as officials from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and leaders of Ukrainian higher education institutions.
“This was not only a celebration and an opportunity for warm, friendly conversations, but also a platform – ‘United for Education’ – for discussions on how universities respond to crises, including the challenges of war, natural disasters, and emergencies,” noted Daria Malchykova.
The American perspective on risk and crisis management in education was presented by Wilma Fuentes, a representative of Florida State University.
“I am truly grateful to all the speakers for their sincere and open discussion on how to remain resilient and continue developing despite the occupation, ongoing threats of shelling, relocation, and daily uncertainty,” commented the Vice-Rector.
Additionally, Daria Malchykova took part in discussions about the challenges faced by universities and the future of relocated institutions.
