A methodological meeting, "DigiPlatform Content Development," took place in Kyiv on March 26-27, at the Mariupol State University, within the framework of Work Package No. 4 of the EU Erasmus+ international program project "Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative (DigiUni)".
The participants representing Ukrainian partner universities, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Agency for Higher Education Quality, and the Ukrainian Association of IT Professionals were welcomed by the project coordinator from Mariupol State University, Andriy Stoyka.
With a welcoming speech, Kseniia Smyrnova, the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and DigiUni project coordinator, addressed the group:
"The combination of technological and methodological contexts, the synergy of these two directions, will be the key to the successful implementation of our ideas. You need to focus on structuring our courses to create a matrix based on which our teachers will work when developing the courses. I wish you to form a high-quality joint document that will allow the technical group to continue working on creating the DigiPlatform and start the content creation process."
On the first day, experts from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv presented proposals from the technical group, functional capabilities of DigiPlatform, and requirements for e-courses. During the discussion of fundamental issues, such as the basic principles of online learning, inclusive course formats, and planning, the Director of the Center for Electronic Learning Technologies at Sumy State University, Yurii Zuban, presented the foundations of pedagogical design - Instructional Design.
Alina Synytska from the Ukrainian Catholic University introduced the participants to the structure and content of open digital platforms. The discussion also covered the course syllabi.
On the second day, participants focused on the methodological, organizational, and technical aspects of course creation.
As a result of the meeting, drafts of several documents were developed regarding the requirements for DigiUni courses.
The methodological group plans to finalize the course description requirements, methodological recommendations, evaluation criteria, and assessment procedures in an online format. Once completed, these documents will be approved.
At the same time, a list of available digital courses and other digital materials from Ukrainian partner universities and EU partners is being formed, which can be placed on the platform.
The DigiUni project aims to support higher education in Ukraine during wartime and in the post-war recovery. It is the largest project under the Erasmus+ program ever implemented in Ukraine. It has brought together participants from Ukraine and EU member states, with 21 institutions as full partners and 5 institutions as associated partners.
The project began on December 1, 2023, and is scheduled to last for four years. The coordinator is Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
