On April 7, a working meeting was held to prepare and organize the regional festival-competition of ideas "Tasting in Our Native Village!".
Valentyna Burak, Head of the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Business at the Faculty of Business and Law of Kherson State University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, took part in the event. She chaired the professional jury of the festival.
Together with representatives of the Kherson Regional State Administration, departments of culture from the de-occupied communities of the Kherson region, and hospitality industry experts, discussions were held on how to make the festival vibrant, flavorful, and even more reflective of the authenticity, hospitality, and resilience of our communities.
“Tasting in Our Native Village!” is more than just a gastronomic event. It represents Ukrainian identity, embodied in every recipe, in family memory, and in traditions. It reflects civic responsibility for preserving our language, culture, and way of life. It is about restoration through unity and pride in one's village, Kherson region, and Ukraine.
Special attention was given to the collaboration between authorities, communities, and businesses. Such synergy plays a crucial role in supporting local producers, enhancing the region’s tourism appeal, and creating a space for inspiration and mutual support.
