KSU Delegation Visits Alpen-Adria University in Austria
On April 7, the delegation from Kherson State University began their visit to Alpen-Adria University (AAU) in Klagenfurt, Austria.
The delegation includes Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskiy Vice-Rector for International, Social and Humanitarian, Research and Education Affairs Veronika Denysenko, Dean of the Pedagogical Faculty Liubov Petukhova, and Head of the International Initiatives and Project Management Department Yevheniia Revenko.
The first meeting of the visit was held with a long-time partner and friend, the distinguished Professor Tilmann Reuther from the Institute of Slavic Studies, Faculty of Cultural Studies, Alpen-Adria University in Klagenfurt.
"His encyclopedic knowledge, fluency in several languages, deep respect for Ukraine, and a profound understanding of our historical struggle – these are the qualities that inspire admiration. Our friendship spans many years. We established a strong partnership between our universities back in 2008, and since then, our students have had the opportunity to study in Austria while our researchers have engaged in academic cooperation. I recall April 2022, when universities from European Union countries joined our project "Academic Bridge" to support the academic community of Kherson State University, most of whom were under occupation yet continued working and studying. One of the very first lectures was delivered by Professor Tilmann Reuther. We are sincerely grateful for the years of support and cooperation," emphasized Oleksandr Spivakovskiy.

KSU representatives also met with Elena Buffa, Head of the University’s International Office, and Francesca Minen, Erasmus+ Exchange Coordinator. The parties discussed issues related to international mobility and the expansion of cooperation programs.
“This is especially important for us, as internationalization is one of the strategic development priorities of KSU.
We presented a symbolic painting depicting a heart in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. The heart of Ukraine beats in Europe – we share common values and future goals, which we continue to defend with the support of our international partners,” said Oleksandr Spivakovskiy.
