In April 2025, a delegation from Kherson State University visited the University of Klagenfurt (Austria). During the visit, they discussed the prospects for academic partnership, digital educational innovations, Erasmus+ programs, and joint research initiatives. They also met with Kherson State University students studying in Klagenfurt under the mobility program, and learned about the experience of psychological support for refugees.
During April 7–9, 2025, a delegation from Kherson State University paid an official visit to the Alpine-Adriatic University in Klagenfurt (Austria). The delegation included: Rector of KhSU Oleksandr Spivakovsky, Dean of the Faculty of Education Lіubov Petukhova, Vice-Rector for International, Investment and Project Activities, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Education Veronika Denysenko, Head of the Department of International Initiatives and Project Activities Yevheniya Revenko. The meetings were also joined by Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Preschool and Primary Education Anastasia Нorlova, who is temporarily residing in Austria.
Meetings with Professor Tilman Reuter, Professor Heinrich Mayer, Vice-Rector for Education and Diversity Doris Gattenberger, Rector Adi Pellert and other representatives of the University of Klagenfurt became a platform for deepening academic cooperation, in particular in the areas of digital infrastructure, international mobility, innovative educational practices and joint research initiatives.
An important topic of the visit was the presentation of the KSU digital platform - KSU24, as well as a discussion of cooperation opportunities within the framework of the Erasmus+ programs. The delegation members shared their experience in ensuring the sustainability of the educational process in the face of the challenges of war and the relocation of the university.
The meeting with KSU students studying in Klagenfurt under the academic mobility program was particularly moving, in particular with Anastasia Lyzko - a graduate of the Faculty of Education, who completed an internship here and is actively involved in educational initiatives. Representatives of the KSU also got acquainted with the work of the ASPIS center, which provides psychological support to refugees - an important direction for our university within the framework of the Erasmus+ BURN project.
The meetings also discussed strategic areas of cooperation between the KSU and the University of Klagenfurt, in particular in the context of expanding academic mobility, creating joint training courses and summer schools, as well as involvement in international grants. Special attention was paid to the areas of inclusive education, digital didactics and the development of a three-subject model of interaction in the educational process.
The official visit to Klagenfurt was another stage in the development of international cooperation of the KhSU. We are sincerely grateful to our Austrian colleagues for their hospitality, sincerity and shared vision of the future of education.
