Last week, Professor Ivan Moysiyenko, Head of the Department of Botany at Kherson State University, Leading Researcher at the Askania-Nova Biosphere Reserve, gave a lecture entitled “Steppe: An Ecosystem with a Choleric Character” for school geography and biology teachers.
In his speech, the scientist explained why steppes are so easily transformed, what plants are their characteristic heroes, how the steppe belt is changing from Ukraine to Mongolia, and what are the differences between meadow, real and desert steppes.
