On 12 June 2025, an examination commission for the certification of applicants for the first (bachelor's) level of higher education began its work at the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology and Journalism of Kherson State University. Today, applicants majoring in 035 Philology and 014 Secondary Education (Language and Literature (Ukrainian)) are demonstrating their knowledge by taking the final professional exam.
This is a responsible and symbolic moment that sums up the results of four years of study, the formation of professional competence and love for words, language, and literature. The exam is not only a test of knowledge, but also an opportunity to express yourself as a future teacher, philologist, language and culture researcher. The certification has become a space where applicants have a chance to demonstrate the depth of their professional thinking, the ability to argue, analyse and create.
The examination committee consists of leading scholars: Liliya Ruskulis, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Acting Head of the Ukrainian Language Department of the Makarov National University of Shipbuilding; Volodymyr Oleksenko, Deputy Chairman of the committee, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Ukrainian and Slavic Philology and Journalism. The committee is composed of Lidia Bondarenko, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Andrii Solomakhin, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor. The examiner in pedagogy and psychology is Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Valentyna Fediaieva. Maryna Reveniuk, a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Ukrainian and Slavic Philology and Journalism, is acting as secretary.
On 17 June 2025, the School will hold the defence of qualification works of applicants for the speciality 061 Journalism. This is another important stage, during which young journalists will present the results of their own research, creative projects and analytical research.
