Tuesday, June 17, 2025

The Rector of Kherson State University, together with the President of the Côte d’Azur University (Nice, France), Jeanick Brisswalter, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support and coordinate cooperation between the two institutions in the fields of science, education, and academic and cultural exchanges.

“This is a historic moment, as we have formalized our cooperation, which began 25 years ago with joint projects with Philippe Lahire, Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation at the Côte d’Azur University. I was immensely glad to see a friend and partner during this meeting. Our partnership already has significant results — one of them is the founding of the ICTERI international conference, which this year will be held in Nice and will celebrate its 20th anniversary,” said Oleksandr Spivakovskiy, Rector of KSU.

The KSU team also presented a painting depicting a bridge to the President of the Côte d’Azur University and the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Cécile Sabourault. The bridge symbolizes the long-standing friendship between our universities.

They also handed over publications from Kherson State University, including an institutional edition summarizing the first year of the university’s work under conditions of full-scale invasion, occupation, and relocation. This is the book “The Black Swan in the History of Kherson State University, or Chronicles of a Relocated University.”

“It was a very positive and warm interaction, and I have a strong feeling that we have many joint projects ahead with the Côte d’Azur University, which has over 40,000 students. We are grateful for the warm welcome and the words of support for Ukraine,” emphasized Oleksandr Spivakovskiy.
