On August 27, the third day of the Summer School of Professional Development took place at Kherson State University. The program was dedicated to an extremely relevant topic - emotional burnout, which is increasingly becoming a challenge for educators, scientists, and everyone working in the field of communication.
First Vice-Rector of KhSU Serhiy Omelchuk noted:
“Our psycho-emotional state is influenced by many external and internal factors – constant stress, uncertainty and the pressure of technology on our inner well-being. We are in quite difficult realities, but the university community demonstrates resilience and the ability to resist. At the same time, long-term remote work does not always have a positive effect on us. Therefore, it is important to find ways to overcome burnout, mobilize yourself, reboot and protect your mental and psycho-emotional health from negative influences.”
The practical session was conducted by Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology of KhSU Olena Shelestova, focusing on the causes, symptoms and consequences of emotional exhaustion. She explained in which situations burnout most often occurs, how to recognize it in time and when it is worth seeking help.
The participants paid special attention to role-playing cases, during which they considered practical situations and looked for ways to independently take care of themselves. This format made it possible to obtain effective tools for overcoming stress and preserving one's own resources.
The final emphasis was the practice of relaxation, which helped not only to master the theoretical material, but also to feel the effectiveness of simple techniques for reducing emotional tension.
