The Kherson State University continues its work as a Summer School for Professional Development. The fourth day was dedicated to the exchange of practical experience in the use of artificial intelligence in scientific, educational, and organizational activities.
The program was opened by the digest “AI Research in Scientific Publications of University Teachers”, presented by Alla Koval, Director of the Scientific Library. The video summarized the achievements of KhSU scientists in the field of integrating AI into education, science, and various spheres of life. The virtual exhibition included more than 60 scientific papers by teachers and more than 20 qualification papers by higher education students. Alla Koval emphasized that all these developments are available in the university’s institutional repository. The video demonstrated the diversity of research and confirmed that KhSU is actively shaping modern scientific discourse in the field of artificial intelligence.
Next, the participants had the opportunity to join the workshop “Artificial Intelligence in the Work of a Scientist”, which was conducted by Natalia Valko, Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at KhSU. The speaker provided a detailed analytical overview of the possibilities of using AI in research, in particular in literature search, analysis of large data sets and preparation of scientific publications.
As part of the online workshop “How to build effective interaction with AI: recommendations for query engineering”, associate professor of the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering of KhSU Maksym Poltoratsky shared useful tips on how to correctly formulate queries in order to get high-quality results from digital tools. The speaker focused in detail on the following factors: what is query engineering, the basic principles of an effective query, demonstrated query engineering techniques and the structure of a high-quality query.
The day ended with a workshop “AI for optimizing the daily work of a teacher: from creating a lesson plan to assessment and feedback”, conducted by graduate student Yevgenia Morozova. Participants saw how technologies can simplify the preparation of classes, help in organizing the educational process and increase the efficiency of communication with students.
The fourth day of the Summer School proved that artificial intelligence is becoming not only a useful tool for scientists and teachers, but also an integral part of modern education.
