Friday, September 19, 2025

On September 17, Mr. Jan Malicki, Director of the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw, visited the Ivano-Frankivsk office of Kherson State University on behalf of the Consortium of Ukrainian Universities and the University of Warsaw.

Mr. Malicki personally delivered a letter from the Rector of the University of Warsaw, Professor Alojzy Nowak, confirming the admission of Kherson State University to the Consortium of Ukrainian Universities and the University of Warsaw.

“It is a great honor for us to receive the invitation to join the Consortium, which has actively supported Polish-Ukrainian academic and scientific cooperation for many years.
We are sincerely grateful to Acting Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, Ihor Tsependa, for facilitating this important visit and outlining the prospects that the partnership within the Consortium provides. These include support for young researchers, scholarships, research grants, and mobility opportunities,”
said KSU Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskiy.

A very warm meeting was also held between representatives of KSU, including Vice-Rectors Veronika Denysenko and Oleksandr Lemeshchuk, the Polish guest, and the Acting Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University.

“It was a pleasure to hear the wishes addressed to our community — not only to continue fulfilling our academic tasks with excellence but, most importantly, to return home. We are sincerely grateful for the support of our Polish partners and friends from CNU, and we are beginning to work on the practical issues of cooperation.
To give Mr. Malicki a taste and flavor of our native Kherson, we presented him with a ‘Kherson’ cake and Kherson coffee,”
emphasized Oleksandr Spivakovskiy.
