On October 8, 2025, Valerii Ivanovych Kuzmych, Professor of the Department of Algebra, Geometry and Mathematical Analysis, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor, delivered a lecture to natural science teachers of the Kherson Oblast on the topic: "Methodological Foundations for the Integration of Mathematics Teaching with Natural Sciences." The lecture was attended by about a hundred teachers from the region, as well as students from the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics, and Informatics of Kherson State University.
The lecturer discussed the methodology of using mathematical tools when teaching natural science disciplines at school. During the lecture, a significant number of applied problems were considered, which are appropriate to solve with students in lessons of mathematics, physics, astronomy, chemistry, and other disciplines of the natural science and mathematics cycle. In particular, complex problems widely used in the educational process of leading European countries were examined.
Also presented at the lecture were developments by the department's lecturers and students specializing in "Secondary Education (Mathematics)" featuring elements of mathematical modeling. During the lecture, the attendees were introduced to promotional material from the Faculty of Computer Science, Physics, and Mathematics regarding admission to the faculty's specialties in 2026.
