On 28 October, Tamara Mandych, lecturer at the Department of Ukrainian and Slavic Philology and Journalism, took part in the round table discussion ‘Kherson Region Speaks Ukrainian: Identity and Resilience’. The presentation was devoted to the linguistic features of the media space in Kherson Region. It also addressed how much still needs to be analysed and researched, as it was only possible to cover and summarise a few key points: general trends, recent observations, and the most illustrative examples.

Tamara Mykhailivna spoke not only about compliance with language norms in media texts, but also about those who teach, write, edit, and research. Several archival photographs added a special warmth, capturing moments of our ‘field’ work with students from Kherson State University as we researched the linguistic portrait of the city.

Tamara Mandych expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to be a speaker and participate in such professional discussions.
