On 30 October 2025, teachers and students of the Department of Ukrainian and Slavic Philology and Journalism of Kharkiv State University took part in a final round table discussion dedicated to analysing the results of the communication campaign ‘Women. Peace. Security’ in the region. In particular, the event was attended by the guarantors of the department's educational programme, S.M. Klymovych and A.F. Solomakhin, as understanding the role of women in modern Ukrainian society is an essential component of the education of both Ukrainian language teachers and future media professionals.
The speakers at the event were Alla Malytska, Iraida Gerashchenko, Iryna Kostinyuk, Iryna Serbul, Stas Kovalenko and members of Coalition 1325, who directly implemented the campaign at the local level.
The round table participants discussed effective models of partnership between the authorities and the community, familiarised themselves with the collection ‘SNPC: a crime without a statute of limitations,’ and took part in a discussion on the strategy for localising Resolution 1325 and its further integration into the communities of the Kherson region.
In addition, following the event, the applicants will take part in an essay competition aimed at deepening knowledge about the content and significance of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 ‘Women. Peace. Security.’ We wish our contestants every success.
It should be noted that Resolution 1325 is one of the key UN documents that emphasises the exceptional role of women in conflict resolution, as well as their active participation in the activities of state institutions at various levels in this area. That is why the participation of applicants in such events is extremely important, as it directly coincides with the department's strategy aimed at understanding key human rights norms and implementing them in the systems of modern education and social communications.
