a unique initiative by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, implemented by #British_Council_Ukraine as part of a joint project between the Ministry of Education and Science and the #World_Bank entitled “Improving Higher Education in Ukraine for Results.”

The team included First Vice Rector Serhii Omelchuk, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law Kateryna Melnykova, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Ihor Golovchenko, Head of the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports Kateryna Drobot, Director of the Separate Structural Unit of the V.F. Benkovsky Beryslav Professional Pedagogical College Yurii Yurchuk, Head of the Department of Culture and Arts Nataliia Tereshchenko, Head of the University's School of Professional Development and the Department for Working with Gifted Youth Yuliia Yurina. In total, seven teams participated in the first module of the program at the Ukrainian Catholic University - Higher education institutions of Ukraine: Lviv Polytechnic National University, Kyiv Aviation Institute, Kherson State University, Volodymyr Hnatyuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University, Pryazovskyi State Technical University, Odessa National Economic University, Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University.

The main idea of the training was to reveal how universities can be drivers of social change, centers of community development, and places for the formation of a new culture of leadership.

 

Key topics discussed included trends in higher education, contemporary challenges, the role of universities in times of transformation, the spiritual, ethical, and social dimensions of university activities, interaction with employers and practice-oriented education, and the social service of universities, including values, social responsibility, and community projects.
