KSU Representatives Participate in the Final Meeting of the Erasmus+ SMART-PL Project
The final meeting of the Erasmus+ SMART-PL project took place at KU Leuven in Ghent, Belgium. Kherson State University was represented by the Head of the International Relations Department, Yevheniia Revenko, and Professor of the Department of English Philology and the Foreign Literature named after Professor Oleh Mishukov, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department, Yevheniia Spivakovska.
During the final meeting, Yevheniia Revenko delivered a presentation titled “KSU24: Building a Digital Ecosystem for the Displaced University.” She outlined the key features of the KSU24 digital ecosystem—its structure, core modules, functionality, analytics, and integrations. She demonstrated how the system supports academic process management, assessment, communication, and quality assurance in the context of the university’s relocation.
Yevheniia Spivakovska expressed her gratitude to the project coordinator, Artem Boyarchuk from Tallinn University of Technology, for the high level of project organization. She also presented KU Leuven coordinator Geert De Lepeleer with two institutional publications: “The Black Swan in the History of Kherson State University, or Chronicles of a Relocated University” and a collection of personal reflections by members of the academic community, “Kherson Essays: Living to Win.”
“For us, this is an opportunity to share with colleagues the reality of what is happening in Ukraine and in our home city of Kherson. As a token of appreciation for the warm reception, Mr. Geert De Lepeleer also received a symbolic gift—Kherson coffee, which carries its own story: it is made from real Kherson watermelons. Of course, that is just a legend, but now the taste and aroma of southern Kherson will be present in Ghent as well,” noted KSU Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskiy.
The event also provided an opportunity to meet partners with whom KSU collaborates in other international initiatives. Discussions focused on new ideas for joint projects, opportunities for synergy, and further cooperation.
“We are sincerely grateful to our colleagues for their partnership! With new ideas, we move forward to new projects,” summarized Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskiy.
