Friday, December 05, 2025

As part of the implementation of the international Erasmus+ project “Academies4Ukraine – Strengthen Higher Education resilience in Ukraine and European Union”, another coordination online meeting was held with the participation of representatives of Kherson State University, the project coordinator and founder of the company I-Strategies, Gianluca Vagnarelli, and partner universities.

KSU was represented by Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskiy, Head of the International Relations Department Yevheniia Revenko, and Specialist of the Department Alina Hlushko.

During the meeting, participants discussed the key areas of work and agreed on the next steps in the project’s implementation.

Special attention was given to the publication of the digital handbook, “Socio-Psychological Support for University Students: a Best Practice from Helsinki University,” prepared by the University of Helsinki, on the websites of partner universities. The handbook offers comprehensive recommendations and practical tools designed for integration into the activities of Ukrainian universities to improve student psychological support services. It was agreed that the materials will be posted on the official website of KSU with open access and disseminated through the university’s official social media channels to ensure wide outreach and accessibility for the academic community and other stakeholders.

The meeting also included a detailed review of the development progress of the second digital resource prepared by Riga Technical University – “Manual for Implementing a University Psychological Help Service for Students”. The university’s representatives presented the content of the handbook, introduced partners to its structure and key sections, and discussed the results of previous stages of work.

The handbook is now nearly complete, and the project team is moving to the final stage: external expert evaluation, approval by all partners, and completion of design and layout.

Additionally, participants coordinated the organization of the final project meeting, which will take place in September 2026. During this event, the consortium will summarize the project's results, discuss key achievements, and outline further steps to strengthen student psychological support across partner universities.

In conclusion, participants noted the effective coordination of all planned project results and confirmed the agreed next steps. Project coordinator Gianluca Vagnarelli expressed gratitude to all partners for their active engagement and productive cooperation, while KSU representatives reaffirmed their readiness to continue working on the digital resources and preparing for the final consortium meeting.

Kherson State University continues its active involvement in the Academies4Ukraine project, which aims to enhance the effectiveness of student psychological support systems, develop modern digital resources, and strengthen international cooperation.
