High-Intensity Gait Training

On November 4, students of the medical faculty attended an extremely important lecture given by Maksym Fedynyak at the CENTER OF PHYSICAL AND REHABILITATION MEDICINE of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Clinical Hospital.
Topic: High-Intensity Gait Training.
Our students share their impressions:
" ... it was an extremely valuable experience — to hear from a practicing specialist with extensive clinical experience and see a completely different approach to gait rehabilitation."
The lecture was very rich and covered key aspects of the methodology:
* Contraindications (absolute and relative).
* A new formula for determining the upper limit of the heart rate during exercise specifically for HIGT.
* Scales and testing tools.
* Principles of safety during high-intensity training.
* Features of a doctor's consultation on cardiorespiratory exercise and the American approach.
This was an event that truly broadened our professional outlook. It is extremely important not only to know classical methods, but also to see alternative, modern and evidence-based approaches. And today's lecture is exactly about that!
Thanks to Maksym Fedyniak and the FRM Center for the organization!
