Within the framework of the project, Anastasiia Volianiuk successfully completed the specialized training “Schulung zur Sprachbegleiter:in von Personen mit Fluchthintergrund”, which took place in autumn and winter 2025 in the city of Basel, Switzerland. The training program ran from 17 October to 13 December 2025 and combined a theoretical component (a total of 43 training hours) with practical training, as well as individual preparation and mentoring support.

The theoretical block included interdisciplinary modules aimed at developing professional competencies for work in multicultural and trauma-sensitive environments, in particular:

  • Trauma Pedagogy I–II (8 hours) – study of pedagogical approaches to working with refugees, taking into account their lived traumatic experiences;

  • Transcultural Competence I–III (12 hours) – development of intercultural sensitivity, communication skills, and the ability to build trusting educational relationships;

  • Didactics and Methodology I–IV (23 hours) – planning, implementation, and reflection of language learning sessions in the format of individual support.

The practical component of the program consisted of ten individual learning sessions with a refugee student, during which Anastasiia Volianiuk provided German-language support. The practical training was implemented with consideration of the student’s individual educational needs, learning pace, and psychosocial context, and was accompanied by regular mentoring meetings and professional reflection.

The overall objective of the training within the volunteer project Sprachmobil.ch is to prepare specialists capable of independently planning and conducting German-language learning sessions with refugees, reflecting on their own professional experience, and transferring acquired knowledge within educational and social environments.

Participation in the project enabled Anastasiia Volianiuk to deepen her practical and theoretical competencies in trauma-oriented pedagogy, transcultural education, language support, and psychological assistance, which is particularly relevant when working with children and adults who have experienced war, forced displacement, and the process of integration into a new society.

The acquired experience and certified training strengthen the lecturer’s academic and pedagogical potential and contribute to the implementation of contemporary European approaches in the professional activities of the university community.
