Rectors of Kherson State University and Pomeranian University Discussed New Prospects for Academic Cooperation
For more than 15 years, Kherson State University and Pomeranian University in Słupsk have maintained a partnership in the fields of education and research. Within the framework of double degree programs, hundreds of KSU students have already obtained, and continue to obtain, a unique academic experience in Poland.
Today, on 7 January, a meeting took place between the Rector of Kherson State University, Oleksandr Spivakovskiy, and the Rector of Pomeranian University, Zbigniew Osadowski.
During a substantive discussion, the parties addressed the following future steps of cooperation:
- Work is underway to align bilateral relations with the requirements of EU educational legislation.
- Preparations are being made to move to a new level - submitting documents for international mobility programs in digital format.
- The expansion of academic mobility programs and overcoming language barriers were discussed. In this regard, KSU is working systematically, increasing the number of courses taught in English each year.
- As for semester exchange, the rules remain unchanged: all previously agreed conditions of academic mobility for students and academic staff continue to apply, ensuring stability and predictability of participation.
- A number of preliminary agreements have been reached that require further elaboration by the legal departments of both universities.
“We continue moving along the path of deep integration into the European educational space -consistently, responsibly, and with faith in a shared future.
Valuing our strategic partnership with Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, we also discussed the possibility of inviting academic staff from Pomeranian University to teach selected courses within the Erasmus+ program. The Rector of Pomeranian University, Zbigniew Osadowski, and the Chair of the Academic Council of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, Ihor Tsependa, immediately began coordinating details by phone,” noted Oleksandr Spivakovskiy.
