On 2 April 2026, the Department of Ukrainian and Slavic Philology and Journalism held a careers guidance session with graduates of Kherson Lyceum No. 57.
The event was attended by Andrii Solomakhin, PhD in Philology and Associate Professor; Svitlana Klymovych, PhD in Philology and Associate Professor; and Tamara Mandych, a lecturer in the department and the Dean’s Assistant for Educational Quality.
During the meeting, Andrii Solomakhin introduced the students to the ‘Journalism’ degree programme, explaining its features, study prospects and future career opportunities. Meanwhile, Svitlana Klymovych and Tamara Mandych presented the ‘Secondary Education (Ukrainian Language and Literature, English Language)’ programme, highlighting the advantages, specific features and importance of the proposed specialisation.
The meeting proved productive: the students received comprehensive information about the admission requirements for 2026, asked questions and were able to better navigate their choice of future profession. Prospective applicants showed interest in the programmes presented, which demonstrates the effectiveness of such career guidance events.
