As part of career guidance work and popularization of historical specialties, the professor of the department, Serhii Grygorovych Vodotyka, met with students of Oleshky Lyceum No. 2 of the Oleshky City Council. The topic of the meeting was "Memory of Chornobyl". The professor told the lyceum students about the night of the explosion at the 4th power unit of the Chornobyl NPP, the causes of the accident and the first hours after the explosion, about the heroism of the liquidators, firefighters, nuclear engineers, military personnel and doctors who, at the cost of their own health and lives, stopped the spread of radiation.The story of the broken fates of millions of people who lost their homes and health, as well as health problems caused by radiation, prompted the listeners to understand the responsibility of the state, science and each person, as well as the importance of preserving the memory of the tragedy for future generations.
Let us remind you that 40 years have passed since the accident at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant.
