KSU Team Visits the University of Agder
A delegation from Kherson State University is currently visiting the University of Agder (UiA) in Norway as part of Democracy Week 2026.
Kherson State University is represented by:
Oleksandr Spivakovskiy, Rector;
Alla Tsapiv, Vice-Rector for International, Research and Education Affairs;
Liubov Petukhova, Dean of the Pedagogical Faculty;
Maksym Poltoratskyi, Assistant to the Rector for Strategic Affairs and Acting Head of the Center for Digital Expertise;
Yevheniia Revenko, Head of International Relations Department.
The delegation had the opportunity to explore the infrastructure and educational services provided by the University of Agder. The tour was conducted by Clare Patricia Jortveit, Senior Adviser for International Activity at UiA.
Oleksandr Spivakovskiy, Rector of KSU, shared some insights into the University of Agder:
It is home to over 14,000 students;
The university operates 2 campuses, 6 faculties, and a Pedagogical Faculty, 23 departments, 24 research centers, and a museum;
Although established in its current form in 2007 following a merger of several colleges, its roots in the region's educational landscape date back to 1828.
Rector Spivakovskiy expressed his gratitude to Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, and Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, Deputy Head, as well as to Viktoriia Maryshchuk—a KSU alumna and currently a leading specialist in the Department of Internal and Information Policy of the Regional Administration.
"It was thanks to your initiative in November 2025 that our first meeting with representatives of the University of Agder took place. Since then, we have established strong communication and defined areas for academic cooperation. As a result—funded by an Erasmus+ Global Mobility scholarship—we have the opportunity to represent Ukrainian higher education and share our unique case of management and resilience under wartime conditions during Democracy Week. We are also participating in the 'Business Opportunities: Rebuild Ukraine – Teateret' event. After all, the reconstruction of Ukraine is not just about restoring buildings and infrastructure; it is about protecting freedom, democracy, and fundamental rights," noted the Rector of KSU.
The visit continues with a series of meetings involving university leadership, faculty representatives, research centers, public figures, business leaders, and politicians interested in collaborating with Ukraine.
