The event brought together researchers from the Institute of Educational Sciences at the University of Basel and the School of Education at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), as well as representatives of higher education institutions from Ukraine. Organizational support was provided by the Institute of International Academic and Scientific Cooperation (IIASC).

Around 70 researchers participated in the colloquium. The event became a platform for discussing current issues related to the transformation of education in times of crisis, challenges of forced migration and adaptation, the development of mathematics education, the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in higher education, as well as the advancement of international academic cooperation.

Within the framework of the program, the representatives of Kherson State University presented the joint research project “Artificial Intelligence and Motivation in the Digital Educational Environment of Universities in Crisis Conditions”, devoted to the experience of displaced higher education institutions using the example of Kherson State University.

The participants also became acquainted with the university’s faculties, its history, the educational programs of the Pedagogical Faculty, and the main directions of its research activities. Attendees highlighted the relevance and significance of the presented research and were deeply impressed by the experience of Kherson State University in ensuring the continuity of the educational process under conditions of war and forced displacement.

For their significant contribution to the colloquium and for the emotionally profound presentation of the research, the lecturers of the Pedagogical Faculty received acknowledgements from the organizers of the event.

We express our sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Elena Makarova for her initiative, strategic vision, and continuous support of Ukrainian educators and researchers, as well as to Tomas Kachinari and the IBW team for the high level of organization, professional cooperation, and support in strengthening international academic ties.

Such scientific colloquia are especially important in the context of contemporary educational transformations, as they create a space for interinstitutional dialogue, exchange of experience in responding to crisis challenges, and the development of joint research initiatives between Ukraine and European partners.

These platforms strengthen the integration of Ukrainian scholarship into the international academic community and contribute to the development of new approaches to educational research and advancement under conditions of global instability.
