From 8 to 13 June 2026, Tetiana Shvets, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Social Work, took part in the X International Anniversary Forum “Mediation and Law”, organized by the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation in cooperation with its partners: the Supreme Court of Ukraine, the Ombudsman of Ukraine, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, the State Tax Service of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, the State Service of Ukraine for Children, the National Mediation and Conciliation Service, the National Social Service of Ukraine,
as well as a wide range of international and national organizations working in the fields of mediation, law, and alternative dispute resolution.
The event was organized by the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation in partnership with the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) with financial support from the European Union within the EU Project “CONSENT”.
The Forum “Mediation and Law” is an international platform for dialogue, experience exchange, and the development of alternative dispute resolution methods.
The Forum is an annual professional platform for discussing current trends, challenges, and prospects for the development of mediation and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in Ukraine and worldwide. In June 2026, the X International Forum “Mediation and Law” brought together thousands of participants from Ukraine and various countries. Over six days, participants joined professional discussions, thematic panels, practical sessions, and meetings with leading experts in mediation, law, and alternative dispute resolution. The thematic areas included:
Development of mediation: perspectives of the state and international organizations
Courts and mediation: effective models of cooperation
Arbitration, mediation, or hybrid approaches? Modern methods for resolving maritime disputes
Restorative justice in Ukraine
Mandatory mediation: which model works, how to implement it, and how to measure results
Advocacy in mediation: the art of representing a client
Tax disputes: a space for dialogue between business and the state
Strengthening mediation: how international ethical standards support national development
Trust ecosystem: mechanisms for resolving investment disputes
Mediation in child-related disputes: international standards and best practices
Participants who joined the Forum online were able to watch panel broadcasts, ask questions to speakers and moderators, and share ideas and reflections on the development of mediation and a culture of peaceful dispute resolution. The organizers expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to creating a space for meaningful dialogue, new knowledge, and professional cooperation.
