On July 9, 2026, Kherson State University held an internal interview for students in pedagogical specialities applying to participate in the Ukrainian-Polish student exchange project “Enhancing Skills for Resilience and Development: Social, Digital, and Managerial Opportunities.”
Nine applicants took part in the interview. They were students specialising in Preschool Education, Primary Education, and Special Education who expressed their interest in joining the international exchange programme to be implemented jointly with Pomeranian University in Słupsk (Republic of Poland).
The selection committee included Professor Liubov Petukhova, Associate Professor Anastasiia Horlova, and Lecturer Anastasiia Volianiuk.
During the interview, the students spoke about their motivation to participate in the project, their academic, civic, and volunteer experience, their involvement in university life, and their expectations of the international exchange. Particular attention was paid to the applicants’ readiness to work in an international and intercultural environment and to their level of English proficiency, which should be sufficient for communication and active participation in the programme.
Liubov Petukhova emphasised that participation in international projects is important not only for students’ personal and professional development but also for the entire university community. Participants in such programmes gain new experiences and become familiar with different approaches and practices, which they can share with the university community upon their return. Therefore, preference during the selection process was given to applicants who demonstrated strong personal motivation, an active civic position, and active involvement in student life.
The Ukrainian-Polish student exchange aims to develop young people’s social, digital, and managerial skills, strengthen their resilience, and enhance their ability to adapt to contemporary challenges and act effectively in times of change. Participation in the international project will also promote intercultural dialogue, the exchange of experience between Ukrainian and Polish students, and broader opportunities for international cooperation.
We would like to remind you that the project has received funding from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. As a result, participation in the programme will be free of charge for the selected students, with transportation, accommodation, and meals provided as part of the project.
