Anastasiia Horlova, Associate Professor at the Department of Preschool and Primary Education at Kherson State University, has been actively involved in the Ukrainian Saturday School “Promin” in Linz, Austria, for more than three years, working alongside her colleagues to preserve and promote Ukrainian education, language, and culture abroad.
The Ukrainian Saturday School “Promin” is an important educational and cultural space for Ukrainian children living in Austria. Here, they study the Ukrainian language, history, and culture, improve their reading and writing skills, become familiar with traditions, and maintain their connection with Ukraine.
The involvement of KSU lecturers in the activities of Ukrainian educational centres abroad is particularly important in the context of the forced displacement of Ukrainian families. Such initiatives support Ukrainian children, help preserve their linguistic and cultural identity, and create an environment where education becomes an important bridge between life in a new country and a continuing connection with Ukraine.
These days, the Ukrainian Saturday School “Promin” held its final bell ceremony, marking the end of another academic year filled with new knowledge, collaborative work, creativity, and sincere emotions.
Anastasiia Horlova’s long-term involvement in the school’s activities is an example of consistent support for Ukrainian education abroad and a valuable contribution to preserving language, culture, and national identity among the younger generation of Ukrainians.
