By visiting our school, Honorary Consul of Latvia in Odessa, Oleg Veretennikov, Director of Academic Libraries University of Latvia Venta Kotsere, project manager digitizing Academic Library of the University of Latvia Valdis Mazulis and photographer Robert Svizhyenyets library.

At a meeting with the Rector of Kherson State University Vasily Stratonov, which began receiving Latvian delegation, outlined the main purpose of the visit: establish close cooperation with our university library Library University of Latvia.

Opened a formal event director of the Scientific Library of KSU Arustamova Natella, who acted as a moderator. She greeted guests, participants and gave the floor W. Rector Stratonov. The head of university hopes that today's meeting will lay a good start for further cooperation and become traditional.

The opening made by the Honorary Consul of Latvia in Odessa, Oleg Veretennikov and vice-rector for international relations, research and educational work and communication technology Oksana Lavrykova. With the presentation of Venta Kotsere "Kherson - Latvia: cultural and historical ties," we learned about interesting still not known facts of cultural and historical ties between our city and Latvia. Presentation "The education system in Latvia" has caused great interest of the student audience. Celebrations culminated Agreement between our institution and the University of Latvia for further cooperation.

Later the guests visited the university book exhibition "Riga under the sun", "Ukraine - this is Europe" and the exhibition "learn, travel and stazhuyemosya EU" organized by the Department of International Relations, University Scientific Library and Information Center at KSU EU. Tour of the Museum of History of Kherson State University conducted the guests and participants head museum and archive center Irina Samsakova. Symbolically, May 18 International Museum Day.

Presentation Valdis Mazulisa "Digitization and availability of funds Academic Library of the University of Latvia" dealt with the problem of preservation of cultural heritage, their solutions and results achieved, collaborative digital design, digitized collections and archives, international standards and copyright with digitization. Communicate with colleagues, university libraries and experts HOUNB was useful and interesting in a professional respect.

Signing the agreement on further cooperation between the two universities in different European countries, creative and warm atmosphere of the meeting gives hope for the development of joint cultural and scientific projects.
