KHERSON STATE UNIVERSITYing to the decision of the Academic Council of the University (protocol # 11 of 03.07.2008) "On the opening of the departments of the Institute of Natural Sciences" since September 1, 2008, the Department of Human Health was opened at the Institute of Natural Sciences.
On the basis of the Academic Council of the University (Minutes No. 1 of 28.08.2017) and in connection with the change of the name of the specialty, the Department of Human Health was renamed to the Department of Physical Therapy and Human Health.
On the basis of the decision of the Academic Council of Kherson State University (protocol dated 23.04.2018 # 11) and in connection with the specialty licensing, the department of physical therapy and human health was renamed from 25.04.2018 to the department of medicine and physical therapy.
On the basis of the decision of the Academic Council of Kherson State University (protocol of June 27, 2018 No. 13 with the purpose of rationalization and improvement of organization of the educational process of the university, the faculty of natural science, human health and tourism was renamed from June 27, 2018 to the medical faculty

The Department of Human Health was created on 01.09.2008.
Trains specialists for the 2016 specialty 227 Physical Rehabilitation and 227 Physical Therapy, ergotherapy, and from the 2018-2019 academic year to the specialty 222 Medicine. Specialists of these specialties after graduation can be employed in sports medicine and rehabilitation centers, health resorts, specialized dormitories for persons with special educational needs, specialized educational institutions (sports schools, boarding schools, schools), hospitals (rehabilitation), rehabilitation departments fitness and SPA centers, etc. Graduates of the specialty may hold the following positions: Physical rehabilitation specialist; masseur; sports massage therapist; instructor - therapeutic physical education; instructor-methodologist in physical culture and sports in medical and wellness establishments, educational and rehabilitation centers, educational and social protection institutions of the population, sports-training centers, sports teams
Upon graduation in the specialty 222 Medicine graduates are qualified as doctors and can be employed in hospitals, polyclinics, medical dispensaries; sports medicine and rehabilitation centers; health resorts.
Students' educational and production practices take place at the qualitatively equipped bases of the best medical and rehabilitation institutions of the city and the region, namely: in the Kherson Regional Cardiology Dispensary, KNP "Kherson City Clinical Hospital named after AS Luchansky", KNP "Hesonsky City Clinical Hospital A. and O. Tropinakh ", KPP" Kherson Children's Regional Clinical Hospital ", KPP" Regional Hospital for Rehabilitation "of Kherson Regional Council, Kherson Regional Center for Complex Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities of Kherson Oblast councils, city center for rehabilitation and rehabilitation of A. and O. Tropynyh hospital, KNP "Kherson City Clinical Hospital named after E. Karabelesh", KNP "Kherson Regional Center of Public Health"

Since 2012, in Kherson State University, the specialty Physical Rehabilitation, in addition to the stationary form of education, has also opened a correspondence form of study.
In the 2015-2016 academic year the department successfully passed the licensing of the specialty 227 Physical Rehabilitation of Higher Education "Master"
