From December 18 to 24, 2023, the Nature Marathon took place - a scientific and educational event aimed at supporting talented youth and popularizing natural sciences.

As part of the marathon, participants had the opportunity to join a series of fascinating lectures from leading scientists of the Department of Human Biology and Immunology of Kherson State University

We invite high school students to attend the Nature Marathon, which will take place from December 18 to 24 this year.

On April 28, 2023, the Department of Human Biology and Immunology held a seminar on the topic "Consequences of the Chernobyl disaster: today." The seminar was organized and conducted by teacher Vita Shvets and senior laboratory assistant Maryna Horbenko for students of the 4th year of the bachelor's degree and the 1st year of the master's degree in Biology and Secondary Education (biology and human health), as well as all those who are interested. Associate Professor Oleksandr Sprin was invited to participate, who spoke about his own experience working with the liquidators of the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, because Oleksandr Borisovych's dissertation study is devoted to the study of the psychophysiological functions of the liquidators.

Congratulations to Kulida Alina, a student of 312 group of specialty 014.05 Secondary education (Biology and human health) with a diploma of III degree for participation in the second round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in "Professional Education", which took place on the basis of Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy! Keep it up!!We also congratulate the supervisor Butenko Natalia Ivanovna, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Pedagogy, Psychology and Educational Management named after Prof. E. Petukhov of Kherson State University !!!

Research group led by Associate Professor of Human Biology and Immunology Olena Lanovenko, which includes 2nd year biology students Ostapenko Eliz, Sidorenko Kateryna and undergraduate Fomina Julia conduct genetic and ecological research on the topic: «Evaluation of the cytogenetic effect of environmental factors in the buccal epithelium cells of experimental animals and humans»

The administration of the municipal institution "Center for Ecological and Naturalistic Creativity of Student Youth" of the Kherson Regional Council evaluated the fruitful participation in the jury of the II (regional) stage of the All-Ukrainian competition "Earth is our common home" (student environmental campaigns) on "Virus attack, save the planet!". The staff of the department congratulates Ph.D., associate professor Spryn Oleksandr Borysovych and wishes further creative solutions to current problems

Despite a long break from quarantine, our team waited until it was possible to return to scientific work on the research site. And although blended learning does not allow you to attend faculty every day, scientific research is slowly resuming. 

Modern reform of secondary and higher education today significantly changes the emphasis in the scientific research conducted by future teachers of biology and basics of health in the group of STEM-education "Cytoecologist". 

Congratulations to our colleague, lecturer at the Department of Biology, Human and Immunology of Kherson State University Julia Solona with the defense of a dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences in "Theory and Methods of Vocational Education" on the topic: "Preparation of future biology teachers for research in general secondary schools education ". For the first time the defense of the dissertation took place in a mixed format at a meeting of the specialized academic council K 67.051.02 of Kherson State University, so everything is according to the requirements and trends of the time!

We are grateful to the scientific supervisor of the dissertation - Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Marina Sidorovich!

Today our student Olena Maksymenko held an open event in biology, as part of a master's internship. It turned out that the theme of the event: "Unusual news in biology" not only motivated Elena to search for interesting and radically different information on seemingly familiar topics, but also facilitated the exchange of curiosities with students who were very active and focused on winning the game!
