On December 10, the traditional annual English Language Olympiad was held for first-year full-time and part-time Master’s students.
Participants demonstrated a high level of proficiency by completing test tasks and writing an essay.

The jury consisted of:

O.A. Zubrova — Head of the Jury, Associate Professor,

K.S. Frantsuzova — Jury Member, Associate Professor.

According to the results of the Olympiad, the prize places were awarded as follows:

1st place — Mykola Huk (79 points)

2nd place — Lesia Bolets and Anastasiia Kyrychenko (77 points each)

3rd place — Nataliia Khlybova (70 points)

4th place — Alla Shvorob (61 points)

🇬🇧 Translation Contest – 2025 to the International Translation Day Concluded!

The annual Translation Contest – 2025, traditionally organized by the Department of Specialized Translation and Foreign Languages of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, Management and Business at Kherson National Technical University, has successfully come to an end!

This year, the contest received a record-breaking 138 entries — poetic, prose, and journalistic translations from Ukrainian, English, and German.
Participants included university students (bachelor’s and master’s levels) and high school students from grades 9–11 representing different regions of Ukraine.

Congratulations on the Victory in the International Student Research Competition in Philology!

We sincerely congratulate Nika Malanii, a first-year Master's student majoring in Philology, and her academic advisor — Professor O.O. Zabolotska — on their brilliant victory in the International Student Research Competition in Philology, where Nika won 1st place!

On June 6, the final stage of the competition took place — the defense of research papers in the format of an online conference. Based on the evaluation of the expert committee, Nika Malanii was invited to the final as the author of one of the best student research papers.

During her presentation, she honorably represented our university, department, and academic program, demonstrating a high level of scholarly preparation, analytical thinking, and academic maturity.

On April 17-18, 2025, the XIV All-Ukrainian Student Scientific and Practical Conference “Foreign Languages in the Modern Communicative Space” was held, co-organized by the Department of English Philology and World Literature named after Professor Oleg Mishukov.

A member of the conference program committee, head of the department, associate professor Kishchenko Yu.V. delivered a welcoming speech.

The members of the organizing committee and heads of the conference sections were associate professors Zubrova O.A. and Khan O.G.

The conference was attended by 22 master's students who carry out their research under the guidance of professors and associate professors of the Department of English Philology and World Literature named after Professor Oleg Mishukov.

Students of group 302 of the "Philology" specialty took part in the competition of translations of Ukrainian folk songs into English and received certificates. This is a great opportunity for students to demonstrate their translation skills and deep understanding of the culture of their native language.

The results of the translator competition for the International Translator's Day!

For fifteen years in a row, the Department of English Philology and World Literature has become a co-organizer of the All-Ukrainian Student Scientific and Practical Conference "Foreign Languages in the Modern Communicative Space". This time it was attended by 17 students of higher education of the first and second levels under the leadership of leading professors and associate professors of the department.

Sofiya Krivoshapova, a 1st-year graduate of the "Philology" specialty, took first place in the All-Ukrainian contest of poems and artistic translation "Alter-Ego" in the nomination "Poems in English or German" under the guidance of assistant professor Khan Olena Georgiivna. The awarding ceremony of the winners took place at Sumy State University on March 15, 2024.

The student of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education of the Pedagogical Faculty of Kherson State University Ibadzade Syema Nizami Kyzy won and was awarded with a II degree diploma.

Nika Malaniy, a 4th-year graduate of Kherson State University majoring in Philology, who is studying in Canada under the MITEX program, will represent our university at the annual CASWE conference in Montreal. The mining project was accepted out of 350 submitted works. The conference will be held at McGill University on June 17-20, 2024.

The meeting "Memory of the Heart" is dedicated to honoring the memory of Professor Oleg Mishukov on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

Вітаємо Шелдагаєву Г.О. з отриманням Почесної нагороди за ефективне керівництво науковою роботою студента-переможця Всеукраїнського конкурсу студентських наукових робіт 2018 - 2019 н.р.

Студенти та викладачі кафедри практики іноземних мов взяли участь у Х (ювілейній) Всеукраїнській науково-практичній студентській конференції "Іноземні мови в сучасному комунікативному просторі" 11 квітня 2019 року

     25-27 квітня 2018 року завідувач кафедри практики іноземних мов, доцент Кіщенко Ю.В. взяла участь у міжнародній конференції «Оцінювання для ефективного вивчення іноземної мови» в Київському національному університеті імені Тараса Шевченка. Вона пройшла інтенсивний курс навчання з тестування та оцінювання англійської мови (30 годин).

    Заняття проводили професори, доктори наук університету графства Бедфордшир – Ентоні Грін та  Деніел Лем. Українську школу дослідників представив професор Черноватий Л.М.

З вересня 2017 р. по червень 2018 р. на кафедрі практики іноземних мов працює волонтер, випускник  Йельського університету, США,  Джозеф Габерман.  Він бере участь у проведенні практичних занять з «Практики усного та писемного мовлення» та є засновником кіноклубу на факультеті.

13 квітня за участю кафедри Англійської та турецької мов команда із 6 студентів-науковців факультету Іноземної філології (науковий керівник доцент Кіщенко Ю.В.) взяла активну участь у VIII Всеукраїнській студентській науково-практичній конференції «Іноземні мови у комунікаційному просторі», яка відбулася в Херсонському національному технічному університеті. Тези всіх доповідей представлені в науковій збірці конференції.
