Today Olena Galagan had a wonderful opportunity to meet at the KSU Legal Clinic with the students of the "3rd Generation University" project. We talked about international standards of social security for people of respectable age. Analyzed the legal system, normative and legal support of state policy in the field of social protection of the elderly, got acquainted with the content of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, European Social Charter, Declaration on Aging, Vienna and Madrid International Plan of Action on Aging, Hong Kong Declaration on Poor treatment of the elderly, identified possible ways to protect violated or unrecognized rights, discussed the case law of the European Court of Human Rights and many other issues.
She was pleasantly impressed by the activity and curiosity of the listeners, their energy, desire to go to their goal and defend their rights. The participants of the meeting actively support the philosophy of "Life-Long Learning", which is lifelong learning. Such classes are regularly held by teachers of Kherson State University. This project is inspiring. The third generation university is not only a place where you can communicate and spend time in a pleasant atmosphere and enjoy a good conversation. During such meetings, students can acquire the skills and abilities that are needed today, and contribute to the fact that every member of society, regardless of age or health, has more opportunities to feel their social value, have access to education, culture, spiritual life, recreation and development of their potential.
